It all started way back when....Well, actually lets not go that far back for now. If you want the full history check out the genealogy link back on the homepage. My parents each had their own history, so I'll just deal with mine. I was born in New York City, and raised in Queens. Yeah, I am a "Native New Yorker". My heart and soul is still there, but I migrated to Houston Texas.

Family members were always close. It was a short hop on a bus or subway to get anywhere. I have two brothers, Sidney the oldest and Robert. Sidney is about 1 to 2 years older than Robert and I'm the youngest by about 7 years. I'm sure my brothers had their way with me when I was little, too little to remember. I pretty much followed my brother's lead when it came to doing things. We all went to the same schools. For elementary school we went to Our Lady of the Angelus, except the 7th and 8th grades were I finished at St. Nicholas of Tolentine

For high school, I went to La Salle Military Academy. Again the same school that both my brothers graduated from. Sidney, started off at Eastern Military Academy and finished up in La Salle. Both schools have since closed their doors. I grew up fast in La Salle, learning that life was not going to deal you an easy hand. I knew I wanted to exceed in that school as best I could. In a sense I saw my brothers, making their mark and I wanted to excel just as they did. They had already graduated, Sidney in '75 and Robert in '77. To this day I look up to them for inspiration. Each have their own qualities that I look for and wish I have.

At La Salle I joined an elite group of men in my freshman year called the La Salle Rifles (LSR). They were a silent drill team that used real demilitarized Springfield M-1903 rifles weighing at 8.69 lbs. We competed at high school and collegiate levels, winning State, Regional and National titles. I was honored, and I do mean honored, to be the Commanding Officer of this elite team in my senior year.

I went on to graduate high school in '84 and then attended St. John's University and received my Associates Degree in Computer Science and followed one of my brothers, Sidney, into the U.S. Marine Corps. I was lucky enough to get into the computer field like my brother. This next part is the best, because if it wasn't for the decision I made, I would never have met my lovely wife of 15 years.

My first duty station I requested was at the Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow California. My brother Sid was stationed there and I was roommates with him for less than a year before he decided to go to embassy duty. Now I could have followed him there too and was actually advised to, but my heart was taken by a gorgeous blonde who actually noticed me first. She was the daughter of the recently retired manager of the facilities where I worked. We dated for a short period and got married in 1989. Within a year I had my orders to journey further on to Fleet Marine Force Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii for four years. That took care of our honeymoon!! It was there were I adopted her only son, now Nicholas Christopher Carneiro, who already was calling me dad. That was the best thing next to meeting my wife that ever happened to me at that time.

I traveled a lot when I was in Hawaii, unfortunately without my wife. I went to Guam, Diego Garcia, Philippines, and Okinawa Japan. We left Hawaii and traveled next to Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany Georgia where I finally decided after eight years in the Corps I needed to take my computer knowledge and move on. I moved to Houston Texas in 1995 and was employed with Compaq Computer Corporation, now bought out by Hewlett Packard. Wouldn't you know that Compaq had the same computer network environment I used in the Marine Corps, so there were a large number of "Former Marines" from all different ranks and backgrounds working at Compaq. I felt right at home.

My wife and I have two additions to the family now, Jonathan Michael Carneiro and Benjamin Elijah Carneiro who is 6 years younger. You can see their pics in my family album link off my homepage. Well, I hope you enjoyed my biography and the website.
