CRITERIA ADOPTED:
1- In all the genealogy trees the name of the wives are always considered the name of single woman, to coincide in relation with the genealogy trees of her family. On the other hand, it would not make sense to say that "so-and-so of such" married a woman that had the same surname.
2- Only the names of the straight descendants of the couple log are written in bold.
3- In Chapter III, the dates of marriage and date of death was omitted, as well like the information of death, to facilitate to the persons that will want to give complete continuity to the work.

1- Several websites were used to translate this document to English. In some cases several language translations had to be incorporated to decipher the correct grammatical content. Since I am not fluent in Portuguese, at times my best judgment was used. So to those who read both, there may be obvious differences from the original Portuguese version created by Roberto Vieira Carneiro. Obviously this was not intentional.
2- Names of people and places were best kept as is in from the original language as to not lose their meaning or relations. Except where in cases it was obvious what was being said. For example: S.Miguel was translated to São Miguel. another would be Bragança Paulista translated to São Paulo Braganca.

In the 18th century, in Bahia, Frei Antonio of Santa Maria Jaboatão, finishes, in 1768, the elaboration of his "Geneology Catalog", I search in 1946, by the scholarly Bahian historian Afonso Coast; in Pernambuco, Antonio Joe Vitoriano Borges of the Fonseca, writes, in 1748, its "Nobiliarquia Pernambucana"; and in São Paulo, Pedro Taques of Almeida Paes Helm, initiates in 1742, its "Nobiliarquia Paulistana".
However, linguist scientist of São Paulo, Pedro Taques, had his work broadly continued in the 20th century, with the publication, in 1903, of the "Genealogy Paulistana", in 9 volumes, by the benemérito and immortal genealogist bragantino Dr. Luiz Gonzaga of Silva Leme, to whom the contemporary native of São Paulo must the facility to be able to recognize its remote origins.
This modest work is going to show the descendants of Idalmiro de Oliveira Carneiro and his wife Maria Leontina Vieira da Silva, as far back as possible their direct ancestors, that is of interests us, without showing the ramifications, therefore the relations are incomplete.

PEDRO ALVARES CABRAL, Native of the island of São Miguel, where he fought in Africa and received a wound from of the enemy that left him an indelible mark on the face. It was that Pedro Alvares Cabral governing of the Captainship of S. Vicente and descendant of home of Belmonte (to the which belonged the admiral of the same name, the discoverer of Brazil) 2nd marriage with:

c. c. YNNOCÊNCIO PRETO, Listener of the Captainship of São Vicente and 5th child of Antonio Preto . Passed away in 1647. ANTONIO PRETO, his father, came on the São Vicente with his children, in 1562. After giving great services to the Crown, he went back to Portugal, where in 1574 he brought his wife and established in S. Paulo, his children were already, all notables.
Amongst them, his 4th child the Captain Manoel Preto, therefore brother of Ynnocêncio Preto, big and intrepid explorer that penetrated the back-country of the Rio Grande (today Rio Paraná), of the Rio Paraguai and their provinces, Arriving at the river Uruguai, in conquest of wild indians, and binding as much of their farm to culture, founded in 1580. In the chapel of Our Lady of the Expectação of the Ó, can be counted 999 bows and arrows of indians. He the founder of that chapel, between 1610 and 1615, (today “Freguesia de Ó”)

c. c. JOAQUINA NOGUEIRA DE JESUS, approximately between the years 1770 and 1800, he lived in Freguesia of Rio Verde, Judicial district of Rio das Mortes, in Minas Gerais.

It was not possible to authenticate the ascendants of this couple, not only because of imperfections and the bad state of much of the books of old archives of Baependi, as also, because in the parish of Campaign the first book of seats of marriages was lost, so the probable time of the marriage of Antonio Gonçalves Blacksmith, between 1750 the 1778,.
The origin of the Gonçalves connects him to the foundation of the old city of Lara, in Spain, 762 for Gundiçalves, Gundiçalviz, Gundiçalvo, Gonçalviz, Gonçalez, Gonçalvez and Gonçalves in Portugal.
In the year of 1796 already he was deceased Antônio Ferreira Gonçalves; in 20-09-1796, in Campanha, Joaquina Nogueira second marraige was to Gonçalo Luiz de Oliveira, born and baptized in the village of Caeté, child of Manuel Luiz de Oliveira and Ana Maria da Conceição.
Their first child, Joaquim Ferreira Gonçalves, of which was a direct decendant, was baptized in Chapel of Rio Verde, branch office of the parish of Baependí, where it’s registered in 18 of March of 1779.
He was guarda-mór of the mines and had an important commercial house that also negotiated in cotton and cattle.
More or less in 1833 he eliminated its commerce in Campanha and moved away from his farms in the New World Neighborhood, freguesia do Rio Verde.
A year later he transfered himself to Piracaia in the State of São. Paulo.
There he passed away in 16-03-1845, his body buried in the Church of Rosary.
A small passage of his book is going to have him being a man of straight character and of religious spirit:
"I declare my final debt to Baptist, negotiator in S. João and his partner, saved error of Francisco of Paula for misleading that our account had a hundred and fifteen thousand réis. Of promise to N. S. Padroeira of the Frequezia of Rio Verde, hua corôa of Silver. Also of promise, Ladainha with music the N.S. of the Dôres in its Capella in the Villa de Campanha, who I have doubt if I fulfill or not.
I ask my wife and children that, by the love of God pay those debts itself I die without fulfill with that action. Freguezia do Rio Verde, 24-4-1840.

By letter of request dispatched in Campanha in 1846, and existing in the 2nd notaries in Atibaia, makes reference to the inventory of Joaquim Ferreira Gonçalves, that his second marraige was to Barbara Jesuina. Born from this marriage a girl, Higina, which has deceased without leaving a successor.

IDALMIRO DE OLIVEIRA CARNEIRO, born in Bragança Paulista in 06-12-1897 died in S. Paulo in 31-01-1962. Married in 25-05-1920 with MARIA LEONTINA VIEIRA DA SILVA, that after the marriage passed to be called Maria Leontina Vieira Carneiro, also born in Bragança Paulista, in 12-05-1901 and died in Sao Paulo in 30-07-1991.

Capt. LAURIANO DE OLIVEIRA PRETO, born in 1832 and died in 27-11-1906. He dedicated himself entirely to the agriculture of his farm in Ponte Alta, where they lived for many years. Married at 36 years of age to FRANCISCA EUGENIA, who was only 14 years old, Daughter of Francisco Antônio de Toledo and of Maria Maciel. After the marriage, Francisca Eugenia was then called Francisca Eugenia de Oliveira, known by the grandchildren as "vovó Chica" ("Grandma Chica"). The couple, had a residence in the city, where with their children went to festivals and rested from the farm work.
Capt. Lauriano de Oliveira Preto had blonde hair and blue eyes. It was said that on a certain night, while he slept, he was stung in the nose by a fly, forming a wound and as a result of this, he passed away. He was buried in Sao Paulo Bragança.
JOÃO GONÇALVES CARNEIRO
, born in Santa Rita de Extrema- Minas Gerais in 27-9-1874. Child of Joaquim Carneiro de Lima and Laura Gonçalves de Lima.The name of João Gonçalves Carneiro, was adopted in March of 1900, Prior to that his name was João Carneiro de Lima. That exchange gave due to the tangle that there was with the identical name of his cousin.
First marriage was to FABRÍCIA AUGUSTA DE OLIVEIRA.
Established a commercial home on Rua Cândido Rodrigues, having as a partner, his brother-in-law Luiz Andreucci. This firm was dissolved in 29-2-1904, Leaving his partner Luiz Andreucci.
The couple stayed residing on the same street the father-in-law had in the city.
Their children: Ernesto (passed away with barely 1 year), Juvenal, Idalmiro, Lamartine and Ernesto.
Originating from a fever, Fabrícia passed away on 17-12-1901, leaving her son Ernesto at barely 17 days old. The recem-nascido was cared for by their aunts Carolina and Antonia Ferraz on the farm of Agudo until 5 to 6 yeas of age, Then came to the house of the father who was already newly married. With uncertainty, they came together with their brothers to the house of their grandparents Lauriano and Francisca.
Juvenal, Idalmiro and Lamartine stayed with their grandparents on Fazenda in Ponte Alta and when they reached school age, they moved definitively to the city.
In 1906, grandfather Lauriano passed away, but continued to stay with the grandmother "Madrinha" ("Godmother") as they called her. From her they received affection and dedication till they married. They then resided in a proper home on Rua Cel. João Leme, # 51.

Some years later, he suffered the effects of the crisis, making it necessary to sell the two farms and settle the commitments.
Maria Antonia were friends of the stepchildren and great companion for the husband, to whom they called "Nhozinho".
João Gonçalves Carneiro, man of honest character, a formidable temperament, always cheer up, playful, at the same firm and energetic time.
He passed away suddenly at Fazenda Caete, where he worked in the office as a helper of guard books, on the day of 10-1951, at 77 years of age.
